About Logos

What is Logos?

Logos is the undergraduate journal for the Classical, Near Eastern, and Religious Studies department at UBC. We operate as part of the CNERS Undergraduate Student Association.

Why should I submit? Why should I become an editor or designer?

Logos provides a unique opportunity for students to see their work published as an undergraduate, and writing, editing, or designing for Logos looks excellent on a CV or graduate school application. In all roles, Logos contributors work with other students to produce an academically rigorous, interdisciplinary publication. Logos takes great pride in showcasing the inspiring talents of UBC’s budding scholars. We also have a great time!

Who can submit?

Any current UBC undergraduate can submit to Logos. Authors do not need to be in CNERS majors or minors, and papers do not have to be written for CNERS classes, provided that their content is relevant to Classical, Near Eastern, or Religious Studies.

When do I submit? When is Logos published?

Submissions are open until Friday, January 10th. Logos is published at the end of the Spring term.

Where do I find more information? Where can I read past issues?

You can find Logos information, resources, and past issues on this website, as well as our Facebook page (search LOGOS or @logoscnersjournal).

How do I submit? How do I become and editor, designer, submissions officer, or editor-in-chief?

Submissions should be sent to submit.to.logos@gmail.com within the submissions period (don’t forget to double check our Submissions Guidelines first). For editorial positions, contact edinchief.logos@gmail.com.
